Dear All,

I would like to install Kaspersky Anti Virus 6.0.2.614 on my stand
alone PC (no internet connection/network). But it seems that Kaspersky
need to update.

I would like to know how can I download the update manually? because
my PC has no internet connection as File definition update of Symantec
(we can download and update manually).

Anyone can you help me with this? Because my PC has got virus.

Thanks in advance

"And happy valentins' day for all."

I'm slightly confused Susan. Why do you need anti-virus if your PC is
not connected to the Internet?

She may swap files (flash drive, diskette) with friends, or have to
bring work home from her place of employment. Prior to the internet
explosion, that was the most common way computers became infected with a
virus.

You're welcome.

Why not just download them from Kapersky, put the updates on a cd, and
install them from the cd? The updates are zip files available

Dear Colin,

Thanks so much for your help. I think it is very helpful for me.

Exactly. And once the machine got infected it would be nearly impossible to
clean it without a clean install.

The idea that the internet is the vector for all virus infections is
false. Any time she puts any readable media into her computer, floppy
disk, CD, DVD, thumb drive, etc., there is a possibility that that
media is infected, and she could thereby get infected.

True, these days, the internet is much more common source of
infection, but it wasn't so long ago that diskettes and CDs were the
main source of infection.

Ken, I used to have the perfect solution to viruses on diskettes. I simply
left the plastic sleeve on my 3.5" diskettes when I put them in the drive.
Prevented the spread of unwanted data. :)

Yep, but unfortunately it prevents the spread of wanted data, too.

By the way, I have always been extremely careful about what diskettes
or CDs I put into my computer, as well as what web sites I go to or
what E-mail attachments I open. There may be been others, but I can
only remember two times that my anti-virus software alerted me that I
was about to do something that would get me infected. Both were
diskettes I had just inserted that had been given to me by others.
