javaw.exe error

Each time I power up I get an error message "javaw.exe encountered a problem and needs to close.

Any suggestions on how to elimate this?

A quick Google brought up this page, which might be useful:

Additionally, go to Start>Run and type "msconfig" without the quotes.
Something may be starting with Windows and calling this application.
Find the probably culprit and uncheck the box next to its name, Apply
and OK out. And of course, there's always the standard Windows
troubleshooting to do:

1) scan with current antivirus ("current" means a version not earlier
than 2002 but using updated virus definitions); 2) remove spyware with
Spybot Search & Destroy (www.safer-networking.org) and Ad-aware
(www.lavasoftusa.com). These programs are free, so use them both since
they complement each other. Be sure to update these programs before
running, and it is a good idea to do virus/spyware scans in Safe Mode.

Start - Run - MSConfig.exe

Look for the line invoking it - which may turn out to be indirect
through wjview.exe - and uncheck it. Exit - do not bother to reboot,
but next time you do there will be a message about 'Troubleshooting'.
Check the 'Do not show again' box and exit

It is trying to run a Java program - which may have been a nasty - and
the actual java has been removed
