Javascript not operating

Nothing happens when I click on javascript links. (XP[HE]
SP1 & IE6).

Have refreshed Windows Script 5.6, & checked IE config.

I note that the links show as just "javascript(x)" whereas
when using w98SE & IE6 the links work and show
as "shortcut to javascript (x)"

Can someone help please?

If anyone is interested, this is what cured it for me

today:

1) stop adsubtract running

2) perform a system restore to a point about 2 weeks ago
(ie before this problem started)

3)After finding the problem was still present, performing
undo on the restore.

I have no explanation why this should have worked but it
most certainly did.......
