java chat xp

i just had xp installed on my pc. since then im unable to
enter any chat areas on the web. the application box pops
up but the button to enter isnt there at all. cany any
one advise me how to change this please??

Do you have the MS Virtual Machine installed? (It's missing from recent XP
distributions.)

If not, http://www.virtualmachine.tk/

You may prefer to use the Sun Java VM, because Sun won a court judgment
against Microsoft. As a result, Microsoft has made their VM unavailable for
download from MS web sites.

As the result of a lawsuit by Sun Microsystems, and the ensuing
settlement, Microsoft is no longer allowed to provide its own Java
Virtual Machine to Windows users. You can get almost the same
functionality by downloading Sun's version of Java from
http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html. If you want the broader
capabilities of Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine, it is still
available from a lot of 3rd-party web sites, some of which are listed
here: http://www.java-virtual-machine.net/download.html.
