JAVA is an implementation from Sun that is designed to work with all
operating systems. MicroSoft "enhanced" it for Windows, but the court
found that to be a violation, and MS is no longer allowed to distribute
their version - though it is still available on the Net.
The standard JAVA implementation can be downloaded from
http://java.sun.com/getjava and should work fine in most cases. In those
instances where a page is MS-centrically coded, it may be necessary to
install the MS version of this JAVA "virtual machine".
I upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows XP. At our Bocce
club we used Yahoo chat with the Java from at for our
club discussuons and league communications.
Since having XP installed, Yahoo Chat will not load on my
computer. What is my problem. Looks as if I should of
stayed with windows 98 and Java format.
Also will Java work with the ME edition?
