Brenda

We recently changed operating systems from Win 98 to Win
XP--now I can't log onto the chat board in my parents
group.--It says that a newer version of Microsoft virtual
machine is required.--I have looked and looked but can't
seem to find this update--can somebody please tell me
where I can download it.

Thanks for helping --when I type in wjview it says
Windows cannot find "wjview" Make sure you typed the name
correctly and try again........when I type in
regsvr32 msjava.dll it says loadlibrary("msjava.dll)
failed the specified module could not be found.

Does this mean it won't work on my op system??

Hi Brenda,

To verify your version, go to Start/Run and type in: wjview

MS JVM Version 3809
http://tinyurl.com/fwvu

MS JVM Version 3810
http://tinyurl.com/fwty

Once 3809 is installed you can get the Update 3810 - 816093 or use the link
above: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=816093

If this is not the issue:
Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 msjava.dll

.

It downloaded fine but then I got the message "This
installation package could not be opened . Verify that
the pkg exists and that you can access it, or contact the
application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows
installer pkg."

No, not at all. It just means that you don't have any version installed at
all. Try the links suggested and good luck, Brenda.

hi brenda,
you have to download the java virtual machine from www.java.sun.com , the
wjview command or regsvr32 msjava.dll won't work because WindowsXP dont have
a MS Java Virtual Machine, it has been stop because of the court order. dont
try again the command wjview it wont work even you install the JVM of Sun,
ok! after you install, go to control panel and look for Java icon.

I assume you're referring to the Sun JRE...I got the same error and
was able to install fine after shutting down ZoneAlarm. If you're not
using ZoneAlarm try again after shutting down/disabling your firewall.
