I've lost the icon(s) for Images on my laptop

Hi,

I have a Dell laptop running windows xp SP2 and I've just lost the windows
fax and pricture viewer icon that normally represents all the jpgs and images
that I have on the laptop. Instead I have the generic windows file icon (the
one that does not know what the file type is).

Before this happened, I updated Adobe and uninstalled the Adobe photoshop
manager that is downloaded as part of upgrading to v.8 of Adobe reader.

Does anyone know how I can get this default Icon back?

Right-click, or shift/right-click an image. Click Open With, select
"Fax and Picture Viewer", and check "Always use this program to open
this type file". That should reassign the Fax and Picture Viewer as the
default program, and give all that type image the proper icon. You may
have to do that with each file type, .gif, .jpg and any others you want
to open with Fax and Picture Viewer.
