iTunes 4.6 Wrecks DVD Drive Registry Entries

N

Neil Cameron

iTunes has worked fine for me so far. I installed 4.6 and the first tiem I
ran it, it complained that the Registry entries were wrong and I had to
reinstall. I did. And then my DVD+RW drive became a CD_ROM drive as far as
Windows XP and all other software was concerned.
I fixed that by running Pinnacle and Roxio utilities.
The DVD+RW drive now works.
The next time I ran iTunes 4.6 I got the same Apple error message and now
iTunes won't see my CD drive. It wants me to reinstall iTunes, at whoch
point I just know my DVD+RW drive will be emasculated again.
Any ideas??

You should contact iTunes tech support about this since the problem is
really with their software. Perhaps there is a conflict with the DVD+RW
software and Apple knows about a patch or workaround.

Good luck,
