Yep, was -4C when the missus set off this morning in the new Octavia......she phoned me up and said the windscreen washers were frozen and the headlamp washers were stuck in the out position and won't retract

Hopefully they will when it warms up a bit and they aren't knackered :(

Tip> Pour hot water on the frozen surfaces [NOT boiling] windscreen/water pipes/door handles etc no it wont do damage.;)

Shes done that now - but one of the headlamp washer modules is refusing to budge as yet....am I right in thinking they operate by using the washer water pressure rather than a motor?

Yep, the area around Shawbury can get very cold - if I remember correctly Shawbury had one of the lowest recorded English temps.....somewhere around -26C

Yay, 1st December, the month of all things festive and Christmas. Got some new Crimbo-tree lights this year, wey-hey! Oh the fun and jollity, as happy cats try to climb it, or else sit there batting at the dangly things. The jolly jingle of bells, as I trot around the house wearing my reindeer antlers (if I can remember where I put 'em last year, that is) and the warm aroma of mince pies circulating..... Mmmmm

I'd give it a little time to see if it thaws, pretty sure it will operate via the washer water pressure :thumb:

Our oil fired heating stopped due to the oil in the tank freezing up.
