Don't be ridiculous.
I NEVER bet.
And as I see it you owe Carey.

Maximum PC just like monkey can get it right sometimes given enough
chances. I personally do not trust them and read their magazine once,
they lost all credibility on that issue with the lame response the
editor and another employee gave about their content.

You should read the thread again.
There seem to be a few points of what was said that you have
apparently missed.

"There will be no exchange program. You will not be able to exchange
your 32-bit license for a 64-bit license." - Carey.

From http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/upgrade/default.mspx:
"Already have an x64 PC?"

"Exchange Windows XP Professional (32-bit) for Windows XP Professional
x64 Edition<http://microsoft.productorder.com/clientx64>"

Carey was clearly wrong. You on the other hand were wrong to, but you
couched your words better than Carey so that you had no diffinitive
statements, just a bunch of probablies and most likelies!.

Kurt;
I did not know for a fact so I did not state it as fact deliberately.
It is hard to be definitive without the facts.
A magazine outside of Microsoft hardly qualifies, though their guesses may
be correct sometimes.
The exchange program went much further than I expected.
I am not aware of a previous program as widely available as this, most are
severely limited.
Even this has a short life expiring end of July IIRC.

One other thing, the best newsgroup to get up to date information is the new
64 bit newsgroup.
The OP and others interested would be better off there for the current
information:
microsoft.public.windows.64bit.general.
There are a lot of current facts, some seem to be changing almost daily.

Hey daygo140, just for your info, "she" is a "he" (Carey) not that it
matters because "he" is just as wrong most of the time anyway. Also,
you might want to put JJ in your KILL file - Of the top three most
useless MVPs he's sitting in the number one spot - The Pole Position -
as it's known in NASCAR.

Get a better look at him on Kurt's site. The MVP Hall of Shame.

EDITED:

I bought my hp pavilion zv5405 with an AMD 64 and WIN XP HOME. I then
slipstreamed my XP PRO SP1 (retail) and then upgraded WIN XP HOME SP2
(OEM) to WIN XP PRO SP2 (retail) to prepare for x64. So I am stuck
not be able to get x64 PRO because I don't have XP PRO OEM??? I find
that hard to believe.
