Itanium or Not?

I want to DL Tweak UI. I just bought a new laptop -- a Toshiba
"Satellite." How do I know if I should DL the regular Tweak UI or the
Itanium Tweak UI? The salesman said the laptop makers don't specify
anymore what kind of processor they are using.

A. And you still made the purchase?

You had a salesman who is either completely incompetent, or lied to you.

On second thought, probably both. That sounds like a store you want to stay
far away from in the future.

But why did you buy a pig in a poke? That's like going into a car
dealership, looking at a car, asking how many cylinders the engine has, and
being told "Oh we don't tell you that anymore."

Since you've already bought it, why don't you just check for yourself?

Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > General tab

This will show you what kind of processor the machine has.

1) I know of no laptops with Itanium processors.

2) You should return the laptop and make the purchase from a store whose
employees have a clue about what they are selling (and let them know why you
are returning it.). Your salesperson shouldn't have been in the department
they were in and helping you with said sale and you should not have made the
purchased once you realized that they did not know anything about the
product they were selling - when you could have gotten (obviously) more
information by downloading the manual from the toshiba website than they
could have provided.

I got a Toshiba and the price was right. Both my computers crashed in
the same month -- I suspect the HD on the old laptop (5 years) was
going out, and I don't know what's wrong with the desktop. Gotta get
a tech to come over. So yeah, I bought it.

Office Depot.

The tab says:

MS Win SP Media Center Edition v2002 SP2
Toshiba Satellite -- Genuine Intel CPU T1350 @ 1.86 GHz

I didn't know I had MCE. What does the Intel CPU mean? I'm used to
Pentiums and such.

Pentiums CPUs are made by Intel. They also make the Itanium CPUs, but
there's no way you could've bought an Itanium at Office Depot. In fact it
would be pretty much next to impossible for any vendor to ship you an
Itanium "by mistake".
