I recently bought and installed a new motherboard in my asus g53 (pretty outdated) laptop. The mobo from ebay is from the vx7 rog, and my keyboard does not illuminate on startup. I had the same issue with a g73, I had to copy friends working g73 bios and updated before windows start, ftw. Do any of you computer genius types know if there is another way? I have reinstalled kb drivers, newest asus dl bios from windows and before with no luck, always appreciated!

Sorry chap, but I have no idea.

If its just the KB not lighting up could it be simply a connection you haven't made?
