Issues: How to turn off the mpg video clips playing in the IE brow

Everytime I click on the mpg video link such as http://xxx.xxx.xxx/xx.mpg, the video
was played INSIDE the browser(IE6). However, I prefer to open the clip in a separate Windows Media Player, which I already link with mpg file format.

where is the switch that can do this? I tried the Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced--->Multimedia and UNCHECK the 'Play video in IE'. but still, the darn
mpg clip kept showing in the IE browser rather than Media Player.

anybody can help?
thanks.

P.S. anyone has any idea why whenever I open a new IE browser, the browser I already opened will automatically close itself without any message, which means
I can always open ONLY ONE IE browser....it is killing me...pls help

Also, you can simply enable the media bar in the browser>click media
options>settings> ask for preferred type.

Browser window issue:
IE Options>advanced>Browser>Un-check "re-use windows for launching
shortcuts".
