Media Player overruled as mpg player

In IE6 running on XP I have set Media Player to be the default player for
..mpg files via Media Player's Tools->Options->File Types, yet from a
website, mpgegs play in Quick Time inside my browser ! Before this
happened, Media Player opened and they played in it.

Any suggestions to get back Media Player as the default?

Uninstall QuickTime? Make sure you also checked to make Media Player the
default player for .mpeg files as well.

Uninstall QuickTime ... why didn't I think of that!

That worked fine. Hopefully I won't need QT for anything soon.
