issue with networking

I have my main ics running xp home bought girls two older machines but
running xp pro. A lot of details ask to right click on my network properties
but on my main ics it keeps on freezing and will not work, need to use task
manager to shut program down any ideas or hints first time setting up a
network for sharing games for kids my printer and thier my documents for
printing and editing school projects
