Issue with hibernate set to higher times

Hi,

I've been searching the knowledgebase and google groupsfor
a while regarding this issue, but can't find anything
exactly related.

Basically , I have a client who's system hibernate
settings don't work 100% correctly.
If you select hibernate from from the shutdown menu it
hibernates and resumes fine.

If you set it to automatically do it in 3 minutes, it will
normally do it in around 5.

However if you set it to higher settings and leave it
unnattended for days, it NEVER hibernates.

There are no error messages or entries in the event viewer
that would indicate an issue.

Please let me know if you have any information on
rectifying this, for the record he has kept up to date
with windows-update and is currently running win2k
professional SP4.

Thank you in advance for any help

yes as far as I know, he also has the issue on another
system which is DEFINITELY up to date as far as bios goes.
Motherboards are from different manufacturers but both
have onboard via chipsets if that helps

Is the system BIOS and APM/ACPI setup completely up to date?
