I am unable to un-install Nero 5.5 from one of my PC's that is running
Windows XP Pro with SP2.
When running the Nero 5.5 uninstaller it comes up with the following message
........
1: The InstallScript engine on this machine is older than the version
required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version
of ISScript.msi, or contact your support personnel for further assistance.
I did a search for ISScript.msi on the Microsoft download site and it
reports no hits. I downloaded the latest Windows Installer and tried to
install it, but it reports that I already have the latest version installed,
I guess because SP2 is installed.
I was able to uninstall Nero 5.5.10.56 from my other PC which is also
running Windows XP SP2 - without problems.
I've searched the Ahead knowledge base but could not find a solution. I've
also contacted Ahead Tech Support and am waiting for a response.
I'm thinking I may have to uninstall SP2 from this machine and then try
removing Nero, but I really don't want to try that unless there are no
alternatives, since it may not be related to SP2.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?
Thanks
Mike
