When I click on my ISP icon to connect to the internet my password is
automaticcally displayed to sign on. If I click on internet explorer first,
and then the Isp icon auotmatically displays my password, the shows up with
double the letters in my password. How can correct this. I'm using xp home
sp2. My daughters computer is the same way.

For security purposes, Windows XP automatically encrypts and
changes the length of passwords. Just click to connect.

Hello;
With Windows XP, the passwords showing as an amout of stars more than the
amount of letters in the password is normal. This is because Windows XP
saves the password as an encrypted "Hash" and it does not store passwords in
a file like the older version of Windows.
This is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
