Having bought this new pc I have been unable to connect to this site.
The site has not gone down as others can connect to it.
I keep on getting "the page cannot be displayed"
I am running xp sp2, Ie6, with regards to the Ie6 I thought I downloaded it
with the automatic updates.
I hope that someone can help with this

Many thanks
Mike

From a Cmd prompt can you Ping 69.64.61.30 (Shunt.com) ?
If Ping packets are acknowledged, then I'd look to the security
settings of IE or one of your Security software apps. Also check
your Hosts file to make sure the site isn't redirected to 127.0.0.1.

Several things to check.

Search for a file that called: host (no last three letters). Open it
with -notebook-. If isohunt is listed, remove it and resave host.

Try turning off any firewall, norton products, etc.

Go to IE - TOOLS - PRIVACY - SITES and make sure isohunt is not listed.

If none of that works, wait until you hear from one of the experts.

I pinged that, it said 4 packets sent and a packets received ! so far is i
know i was not redirected
regards

Pinging just proves that your system can directly contact the site. It
wouldn't test/prove that the site is redirected by the Hosts file. Just
open IE and instead of DNS translation, put the address 69.64.61.30
in the address field and press Return.

ok put the address in and got redirected to google with all sites listed on
it with something to do with isohunt Mmmmmmmmmm

Just too many possible factors to help narrow down where to look
for the cause. Just as a test, I'd download/Run Opera 9.02 to see if
it's directly browser related.
http://www.opera.com/
Opera is well behaved and will work along side other browsers.

sounds like you did a google search

put this in the addressbar:
http://69.64.61.30/
for me, isohunt "converts" it to isohunt
