isaas.exe/Sasser Prevents Boot

My Dad has just installed Broadband, and updated his virus guard. Next time
he tried to boot up, he received a message saying 'isaas.exe' could not
re-start due to missing 'dnsapi.dll' file - and the pc hangs.

I guess he's infected with a sasser worm, (even though he has firewall etc),
and I have tried to help him re-start in both last known good and safe modes,
but each time he still gets the missing .dll message and the pc hangs.

Any advice please? Is there any way of fixing this without a re-install?
Thanks.

You could try "repairing" your installation via the XP CD Rom, go through the
setup as normal, let the setup detect a "Previous version of windows" then it
gives you an option to "Repair this version of windows"
