Is there an easy way to remove duplicate emails from a folder

I recently had a crash and when I revamped everything, I went to the back up
file and brought the personal folders over to the computer. Problem is,
every email that was there came in twice in the folder, and I am looking for
a short method of eliminating the duplicates without having to address each
one separately.

If you still have the backup, and it was a simple copy, open the 'backup'
pst in OL. Delete the origonal pst's

I appreciate the information, however I do not appear to be able to open the
backup without bringing it over, and unfortunately that just creates more
duplicates, so now I have 4 copies of each email.

What do you mean by "bringing it over"? That sounds like it's something you
shouldn't be doing in the first place...might be why you're getting
duplicates, as you suspect.

"Bringing it over"? What do you mean by that? You open a PST with
File>pen>Outlook Data File. It certainly can't interfere with your main PST
that way.
