Is there a msconfig startup utility?

Is there a program that can turn on and off items in the msconfig startup tab?
I have a setup that requires me to de select some of them and restart the
machine and then re select them again and then restart again. example: lets
say I want to encode mpeg videos without norton antivirus running. I have to
wait for the machine to shut down and restart. and then to turn norton back
on I have to re-enable them and wait for the machine to start again.
I have the "startup" utility. but once you deselect items they are no longer
present when I boot back up to re-enable them.

msconfig. Or, have fun in the registry.

Well, you could just stop the relevant Windows services.

If you're using msconfig, they should still be there, unchecked.

Thanks for reply. there is nothing wrong with msconfig. I just thought maybe
there was a way to disable items and re-enableing them without waiting for
the machine to restart.

thanks

In Spybot there is a tool to do just that. It is in the tools section
and it is called System Startup. BTW Spybot is freeware and has a lot
of great utilities in it.
