Can't remove items in system configuration utility (msconfig) star

Have uninstalled McAfee viruscan (antivirus) from my pc in favor of another
antivitus program. So it is not operational anymore in my pc. However, i
still see that said uninstalled program has components that are still enabled
(checked) in the msconfig startup section.
I've tried to uncheck/apply/restart said program components but they still
come back checked (enabled) after restart.
I'd appreciate any suggestions such that said program components DO NOT come
back checked (enabled) after restart on the MSConfig startup section.

McAfee probably left some services behind. If these links don't help, go
to Start>Run>services.msc [enter] and stop/disable any McAfee services.
