Is the beta really working on YOUR computers?...

.....because on My computer it never finds ANYTHING.....as
compared to my other anti spyware installations which
find, define, and dispose (allowing me a choice in some
areas) what has been "caught". I speak of only free
programs like Spybot.........

Yes, it is working.

One source of confusion is in the area of cookies. The builds distributed
thus far don't scan for or selectively deal with cookies (or data miners, as
some apps call a form of cookie.)

This is one source of differences in items found.

Please see my post today. I cannot see that it is
working. It has not found anything in over 2 months.

I don't see your post in this group. Not finding anything is good, in my
book.

Working is better defined in terms of performance in comparative tests by
reviewers, I believe, as well as direct experience with, for example, alerts
from real-time protection as updates or new programs are installed.

OK, MSAS never finds anything during scans on my machine, but it has spotted
a couple of attempts to change settings. I tend to steer clear of the sort
of website that installs spyware anyway, do you?
Also, what things are the other scanners finding? Nothing personal to
yourself, but I keep seeing comments about other products finding stuff, but
not many list the stuff that is found.
The only spyware I am interested in finding is the stuff that actively
changes settings, installs programs and outright hijacks the way my PC
works. Any reports of cookies are always ignored since a cookie is usually
used to store preferences about the site to which it applies, or a hit
counter of some sort.

Dave

Most people who complain that MSAS never finds anything but other programs
do are either finding cookies or they are using a rogue antispyware program.

I have installed Beta as well, itruns everynight at
0200hrs, finds the same problem: Trojan Downloader
TargetSavers, High risk, I remove it for it only to
reappear? So Iam not sure if it is actually working either?

Please restart your system in safe mode, and do a full, deep scan. Repeat
the scan until a scan comes through clean.
