Is SP2 Necessary

Hi All

I just notices on Microsoft website that in order to install the .NET 1.1
win 2000 requires SP2

Does anyone knows whether that is necessary?

I am creating an installation package that I would prefer to avoid SPs due
to potential problems

With Win 2k, yes, the SP is necessary.

If Microsoft says it requires it why do you ask in here?

Even if someone says "no", why would you believe that instead of
Microsoft's requirements unless you just want to be told something
you want to hear.

You should be more concerned about your apps not functioning
correctly because you didn't follow published requirements and
then having to explain why.
