Is Outlook 2003 compatible with Office 97?

Users currently have Outlook 2000 and Office 97 installed. Upgrading
Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 and considering upgrade of Outlook 2000 to
Outlook 2003. Any known problems with running Outlook 2000 along with Office
97 products?

Some of the integration features won't work. (e.g. Can't use Word as the
e-mail editor.)

I know this post is rather old but I am new here. I use Outlook 2003 and
Exchange 5.5 and I still can use Word as an editor if I want. Is it the
upgrade to Exchange 2003 that removes this option?

No, it has nothing to do with Exchange. In order for Word to be used as the
editor in Outlook, both versions must match. In your case, you would need
Word 2003 in order to use Word as the editor in Outlook 2003.
