Outlook Licensing Support

Tom

As we migrate to the new Exchange server 2003, we're
currently on Exchange 5.5, using various outlook clients
97 -98-2000-2002-2003 with different licening. Can we use
Outlook 2000 inplace of 97, I found that 98 can supercede
97. Outtlook 2000 came with sp3 for exchange
Any ideas

You can use whatever Outlook versions you have licenses for.....OL98 was far
better than the very buggy OL97 (which is why it was available for free
download for a long time) but is no longer available, or supported. It is a
very good idea to keep all clients (OS, Office version) as similar/identical
as possible, from a support and roaming standpoint.....

I was under the impression that the retail version of E2003 might sometimes
include Outlook - not sure if this is the case. Check with your reseller.

Probably yes, after you buy your Exchange 2003 CALs, which include the use
of Outlook 2003, and Microsoft has a policy that volume license customers
can downgrade to a previous version. But ask a Microsoft licensing
specialist to be sure.
