Is Office 2000 compatible with Windows XP

Just upgraded to new machine, came with Works Suite and I need, for
University Course, Powerpoint which is available on my Office 2000
Professional althoug I have been told not to use this with Windows XP. Will
I have to purchase the new Office 2003 or whatever is the latest.

Actually, this newsgroup is for Access, the MS database program.
However, FWIW, I am using Office 2000 on my new Win XP computer. But I
don't use Powerpoint, so I can't say anything about that.... but the
other programs work fine.

Office2000 programs work fine on WinXP. At least Microsoft Access (the
subject of this newsgroup) does. If you have specific questions about
PowerPoint, please ask in the PowerPoint newsgroup.
