OFFICE 2007

PEG

I JUST BOUGHT A NEW ACER COMPUTER WITH XP-PROFESSIONAL INSTALLED.
I DID NOT WANT ANY SOFTWARE INSTALLED BECAUSE i WANTED TO INSTALL MY COPY OF
OFFICE PROFESSIONAL 2000. THE COMPUTER CAME WITH A TRIAL VERSION OF OFFICE
2007 INSTALLED. AND WHEN I INSTALL MY VERSION OF OFFICE PROFESSIONAL 2000, IT
DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. HOW DO i UNINSTALL THE TRAIL VERSION OF WINDOWS 2007
AND ALL COMPONTENTS.. CURRENTLY IN MY PROGRAMS FILE LISTED UNDER MICROSOFT
OFFICE
THE 2007 VERSION AND ALL ITS PARTS. WHEN i INSTALLED 2000 IT DID NOT REPLACE
THE 2007 VERSION. I ASSUME 12 IS THE 2007 VERSION?

Hi Peg,

Please do not use all caps. This is considered shouting to others. It's also
more difficult to read. Also, this newsgroup is dedicated to Q&A related to
using Microsoft Office Access, the database software. It is not intended for
questions related to installing Office (other than installation problems
specifically with Access).

Yes, 12 is the version number for Office 2007. Have you tried using the
Add/Remove Software applet in the Control Panel?

Once you are able to install your copy of Office 2000, I recommend that you
install the latest service packs for Office and the JET database engine. This
article references Access in particular, but the information applies to
Office as well:

How to keep a Jet 4.0 database in top working condition
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=303528 In particular, follow the
three links:

Verify that the latest operating system service pack is installed
Verify that the latest Microsoft Jet service pack is installed and
Verify that the latest service pack for your version of Office is
installed

Also recommended: Install the latest version of MDAC (Microsoft Data Access
Components)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&DisplayLang=en

So, try uninstalling the trial version, using the Add/Remove Software applet
in the Control Panel. Then you should be good to go as far as installing
Office 2000.
