Is Epson 1670 a decent film scanner?

I need a scanner for home use to scan both prints and films. Could you
recommend any decent inexpensive models? The Epson 1670 seems like a
good choice, so I would appreciate your opinion if you have already
used it, especially for film scanning.

thanks

I've used a 1670 to scan some very old 35mm film
at 1600 dpi and produced good 5x7 prints. It
certainly met my expectations.

Good luck.

I am using 4870 which is a very good scanner but for home use, it is
excessive. 1670 would do the job but it will be advisable to get the next
one above for more future expectations. I personaly recommend 3170 which
can give you 3200x6400 dpi, should be enough to scan both flims and photos
and it is not expensive compare to its power as well. It also has another
advantage of offering a firewire interface.
