is eMule inhibit WindowsXP from accessing update website & getting

hello windows users,
I'd like to ask that I'm using the windowsupdate properity in Windows XP
to get the required updates, then my brother setuped "eMule", it is a sharing
program i think,, then each time I try to update the windows, it doesnot
manage
to load the windowsupdate.microsoft.com webpage , and it hang out !
So is the eMule is the reason or may be not ??

Like many P2P File Sharing programs, you never really know what you are
getting in them or what they bring to your computer.

If windows update worked before e-mule was installed, then uninstall e-
mule, run a quality AV scanner, run a quality anti-spyware tool (or a
couple of them) and ensure the machine is clean of all malware. Now,
reboot, try Windows update again. If it works you know what the problem
was.

I would recommend that you stay away from P2P File Sharing applications,
they are one of the quickest ways to get malware installed on your
computer and are often filled with malware in the installation program
for the P2P application itself.
