Is any one experiencing video issues since last batch of updates?

My Win XP Pro SP2 machine is experiencing video black outs, for about a week.
The screen freezes and the monitor goes blank. When I boot from a CD with
an alternate OS the system works fine. Is anyone else experiencing this? I
believe the video card is a GeForce FX5600. I originally thought I had a GPU
failure so I swapped out my video card with another card with no change in
operations. I formated the hdd and reloaded OS. I loaded Norton Internet
Security 2005 and updated the OS and NIS. The system started acting up again
after installing updates.

Any ideas?

I loaded the driver today...

After the driver was installed, I did a cold boot. There is no change in
the behavior of the video. When the screen must be redrawn, the screen goes
blank and the video takes a few seconds to resync and redraw the desktop. I
wonder if the Samsung driver that I installed from win update is causing the
problem... I will uninstall that driver and see what happens.... If that does
not work I will do a reload, as I did not load any software yet, except NIS
2005. Thanks for the original suggestion.
