Is a floppy drive necessary for the transfer wizard?

When using the files transfer wizard, I plan to create a wizard disk on CD in
the new computer so I can run it on the old one to complete the transfer and
then connect the 2 with a USB cable. The floppy drive on my old computer
doesn’t work. Will that matter at all, or should the wizard just transfer the
files through the cables without me having to store anything on the floppy?
