Problem with files and settings transfer wizard

I am trying to transfer my files and settings from an old computer running
Windows ME. My problem is that when I run the wizard it does not allow me to
select the option "I want to create a Wizard Disk". The new computer does
not have a 3.5 floppy disk drive. I do not have a windows XP CD because
Windows was installed by the computer hardware company. I do not have a
serial cable.

I'd be grateful for a solution to this problem

I've already read that - plus this

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/deploy/mgrtfset.mspx

Both pages have good information, but they don't tell me what to do when the
Create a Wizard Disk option is greyed out . . .

You need to use a USB memory stick if you do not have a 3.5 diskette
drive. Those are the only two supported options for creating a Wizard
disk.

When you insert the memory stick into a USB port Windows XP will
assign it a drive letter and after that the "Create a Wizard Disk
option" will work.

The thing is, Ron, I had in my flashdrive the FIRST TIME that I tried to run
the wizard. I've checked the drive, removed and reinserted it several times.
Still no show. I took a look at the hardware / software profile this
morning (about 5. a.m.) and it was showing the USB drive as functional and
recognised. But when I went back to the FAST wizard it didn't show up.

Frustrated here,

Ron, I just took the USB drive from one port and put in into another (from
the side to the rear). Started the wizard - no go.

I am thinking the wizard is somehow corrupted, but I can't figure out how to
get another copy of it installed onto my computer!

SOLVED!

The computer wasn't recognising the flashdrive I was using. I changed the
flashdrive, and immediately was able to access the wizard properly.

Thanks for the help!
