Ipod / USB problem we think!!!

I installed an ipod on a Windows xp sp2 computer and it worked fine.
Unfortunately I installed some camera software that must have caused a
conflict because now the system cannot 'mount' the ipods.
I cannot seem to reinstall drivers from dell because they only will install
on an SP1 computer. I really don't want to uninstall sp2 unless I have to.
The ipod works fine if I take it to someone else's house so I don't believe
the unit is faulty.
Uninstalling te camera software and using a system restore point prior to
camera install didn't work.
Any help would be appreciated!!!

Ras, Thanks. Yes, have uninstalled ITunes and the Ipod software several
times and have also reset and restored the Ipods at the Genius Bar and on a
friend's Windows machine. Still no luck. When you get to that page in the
Ipod software where it tells you to connect the Ipod so it can be formatted,
there is a long delay and then the message appears that the computer can't
"mount" the Ipod. Have tried skipping the formatting step and the software
installs flawlessly, but won't communicate with the Ipod. I was thinking
that my 2.0 drivers had been overwritten with 1.1 drivers by the camera
software, but the USB printer and Dell DJ work fine, although the DJ software
also had to be reinstalled. In Device Manager the Details indicate that the
computer recognizes the Ipod, but nothing more. Even thought of deleting all
USB devices, but my current mouse and keyboard are USB, so half way through
that process I'm frozen. Any other ideas? NMetroMan
