Webcam trouble

I recently purchased a creative webcam (Live! Ultra model: VF0060).

When I plugged the USB cable (2.0) into the computer, the camera did not
power on.
Nor was I able to add the hardware. I had the installation CD and it worked
fine. Plus, all the USB ports function with my printer, scanner, and iPods.

Then I took the camera and plugged it into my older computer, it installed
and worked perfectly fine.

I went back to Circuit City and exchanged the camera with the same item. I
came home and attempted again. It did not work. I went into the control panel
and my camera was labeled in the usb hub as "unknown device."

I have XP home SP2. I attempted to install SP1 but it was denied. I can't
seem to remove SP2 as there is no item titled SP2 in my add/remove program
content. The manual that came with the webcam suggests installing xp hotfix
KB822603 but because it is on SP1 I cannot do this.

Please help
I will provide more information as needed

Thanks

Hi ruixing,

The XP Service Pack 2 includes the Hotfix KB822603. That's why you can't
install it.

Have you look at the Logitech WebCameras? For USB Devices, you need to
install the Software for the Devices first, then install / attached / plug
the camera into the Computer.
