IP Issues

I am running windows 2000, and use a netgear USB wireless router to get online, using Static IP DSL.
So recently I came back from a LAN event, and although my chat/download programs work fine, my internet explorer connection turns on/off inconsistently, but this is fixed when I go and switch my router off/on. I'm assuming this is an IP issue, but my TCP/IP settings are fine, and I haven't changed my router settings, so I'm assuming it's windows that has the problem. Any idea on what to do?

From a command prompt;
ipconfig /all
when it works/ doesn't work and compare the result should answer that one.
