Iomega HotBurn Pro for Iomega Super DVD-RW Causes Windows to hang on shutdown.

Hi,
My name is Barry. I am having a problem with some new hardware. Iomega
does not seem to know what the problem is. Hope someone here can help.



I recently added an External Iomega Super DVD+-RW Drive. The program it
uses is Iomega HotBurn Pro.



The Drive works great. Windows does not give me any problems until I have
finished using the drive, and whatever else I was doing and when I go to
shut off windows XP the computer freezes and I get a message that Iomega
HotBurn Pro is attempting to shut down.



In some cases it has been hours since I used the drive.



I am running a Gateway 2.4Ghz Pentium processor, 1 gig Memory, 80 Gig HD
with 68 Gig free. Windows XP updated but not with service pack 2 since this
caused a major crash that could only be recovered by reformatting the hard
drive and starting over. I am glad I had current backups of my work.



Anyway, anyone know what I can do to stop the problems with Iomega HotBurn
Pro?

I have checked for updates and I have the latest HotBurn Pro available and
no updates.

Remove the program from Add/Remove Programs. Reboot. Reinstall it. If
it still fails to perform, then there are better programs out there:
Nero Burning ROM.

I had a similar problem with hotburn and my Iomega DualDVD DVD burner. I had
to update the DVD's bios. After that, hot burn worked fine. (still does. .
..)

I Bought the IOMEGA Super Duper Dvd writer usb 2.0 thinga magig
Works great after I dumped the "HotBurn" software and just use it with
MY "Pirated" Version Of NERO Ultra )

Now all I need is DVD Ghost, so I can be totally region free.
