Internet shuts down

When I first sign on to the internet it tells me that
Internet Explorer has made an illegal action (or
something) and that it has to shut down. After I open it
again it doesn't do it again. However, after a while of
being online it starts acting up, giving me the Error
message that says the URL can not be reached or something
like that. If I wait for a few seconds sometimes it will
get it, other times I have to restart the computer, then
it works again. I know that there has to be something
wrong with the Internet Explorer, but I don't know what it
is or how to fix it. Does anyone know what's going on?
