Internet Explorer Shutting Down - Popups

Sites with pop-ups sometimes cause Internet Explorer to shut down after an
error diagnostic is shown with words to the effect that "A problem has been
encountered. Internet Explorer will now shut down. Would you like to send a
message?" What could be possible causes and solutions?

Hi,
Check to see if a third-party pop-up blocker or similar program is causing
this. If using XP SP2, go to IE> Tools> Manage add-ons. Disable add-ons to
see if one of them is the culprit. Non- XP SP2, View> Toolbars. Disable
toolbars. In the case of toolbars (Google, Yahoo, etc.) which can be easily
reinstalled, you might uninstall them instead of just disabling them.
Disable (as a test) other security, privacy, ad-blocker programs.

This might be a malware problem (spyware, trojan, hijacker.)
