Internet Really Slow w/Vista

I recently bought a eMachines T5224 that came with Vista Premium and
everytime I get on the internet, the internet is VERY slow. I did a speed
check and my upload speed is only like 40kbps, my download speed is pretty
good, however. I have a DSL connection and wireless router. I also have a
laptop that runs superfast on the internet. I have checked with my DSL
provider and everything is fine on that end. I was told that there are some
security settings that may need to be changed so that the internet would run
faster. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try uninstalling McAffee. I was having the same problem and removing McAffee
did the trick.
