Internet Proxy Settings

hi,
i wanted to change proxy server settings for users through a GPO.
i tried this with creating a custom ADM as well as with setting in User
Config , windows settings, Internet explorer settings, and the nconnections.
Both times i was able to make change in the proxy settings, but the moment
user gets moved from that OU to another OU where there is no policy for
Proxy, the old settings goes embedded in the registry.
I want to have something where the moment the user is not getting GPO or
moved from that particular OU, these settings should go back to default.

thanks a bunch

Hi,

When a user is removed from the GPO the settings Should not apply to
them anymore UNLESS you have tatooed their Registry (Profile) with a
Custom ADM. Group Policies don’t tatoo a users profile, but registry
hacks that are custom ADM’s do. You will either need to create another
Custom ADM (registry hack) to put it back to default.

Make sure also you don’t have this setting set in multiple locations
like maybe on the Default Domain Profile or an upper level profile. My
Proxy settings ARE at the Default Domain level because otherwise the
Admins wouldn’t get the setting.

Cheers,

Lara
