internet problems

OK i have earthlink dial up whenever i click on to
connect it works fine but when i try to use internet
explorer or instant messenger it wont connect. I have
tried all the basic things making sure I have the right
settings and no new software any ideas?

I'm currently having the same problem. I tried to
reinstall IE and that didn't seem to help. i installed
another browser (mozilla) but that doesn't work either. I
can only connect to ftp sites with IE but not HTTP.
Any ideas??
