Internet Printing

John

I am trying to set up internet printing and seem to be running into a
problem that no one on the internet seems to be able to help me with --
including Microsoft.

At any rate, this shoudl be simple -- I have a small network that has a
Win2000 Server and a couple of XP Pro pcs. All I shoudl have to o doto make
this work is:

1) Share the printer (attached via a netowkr device and TCP/IP port)
2) Start IIS Services
3) Goto www.domain.com/printers and view and add my printers -- however,
when i Get to step 3, I get the following:

HTTP 500 - Internal server error
and

in teh Event Application Log:

Error: File /printers/ipp_util.inc Line 87 OnStartPage Failed. An error
occurred in the OnStartPage method of an external object..
For additional information specific to this message please visit the
Microsoft Online Support site located at:

Of Course, the link provides nothing at all in the way of help -- anyone out
there able to point me in the right direction?

Cheers,
John

First let's find out what the actual error is.... in Internet Explorer, go
to Tools, Internet Options....

Click on Advanced and UNCHECK "Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages".

Then let us know what the REAL error is.

OK --

Here's what I get now:

An error occurred processing your request.

The error occurred in Microsoft VBScript runtime errorError Code: 1B6

Description: Object doesn't support this property or method

Note: Get ADSI Printers

I done a ton of google searches and have come to nothing -- there is an
article about possible complications on running Internet printing on a
server that is also providing NAT (as mine is, being a SBS)
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=252416

But I have done as suggested and turned on File and Print Services on the
external network connection and get the same result.

Any futher ideas would be greatly appreciated.

John
