Internet Options window problems

A

Austin

When I select Internet Options from the Tools menu in
internet explorer, I get an error message that has the
window title "Restrictions" and the error message says:
"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in
effect on this computer. Please contact your system
administrator."

This computer is not on a network and it's for home use so
in essence I am the system administrator. I do know and
have been using the Internet Options out of the control
panel which is the same thing, but I was hoping to re-
enable it directly in the internet explorer? Does anyone
know how to remove this restriction or problem?

Thanks

Austin,

Use inetcpl.cpl command [in the RUN box] as a workaround.

Ramesh,

Thank you very much! The mvps.org website is great. I'm
glad there are people like you out there helping the
average user like me deal with issues with Microsoft that
come about as a result of many people's interest in
exploiting Microsoft's weaknesses.
