I am getting an error "This operation has been canceled
due to restrictions in effect on this computer." I can
access internet options from the control panel but not
through internet explorer. When I try to change my
homepage the area to change the homepage is
inaccessible/grey out. Does anybody have any advice for
me?

Thanks...

Jeremiah,

Have you enabled the following options in SpyBot?: [Tip from MVP Mike Burgess]
"Lock IE control panel against opening from within IE"
"Lock IE start page"

If so, this behaviour is normal. If you are not using Spybot, the problem may be due to a spyware.

Close IE.
Open Regedit.
Find the value NoBrowserOptions and remove every instance of it.

You might try this from Mike Burgess first if you use SpyBot:
'Did you by chance run SpyBot's Immunize feature?
If so, you can unlock by unchecking the option to "Protect IE Control
Panel". See:
