Internet Options: Email preference resets to Outlook - Why?

R

Rich

I use Pegagus Mail for my email client but every so often that
preference gets reset in the Control Panel's Internet Options. It
reverts to MS Outlook.

I suspect that it changes after a MS automatic update, but that is
just a guess. I had such an update last night and today I found that
the preference was changed.

Anyone have any insight to this situation?

TIA, Rich

The Control Panel/System app has an Automatic Update tab. You could select
the option to review what updates run, and avoid the Outlook updates. The
Windows Update site also has ways to select updates to turn off.

No guess - you're right. Outlook updates change the default mail
client.....PITA unless you are using Outlook.
If you're are using Pegasus, why not uninstall Outlook.....

Try in the Control panel Add/Remove Programs and then click on Set Access
and Default Programs and set the Pegagus as your Default E-mail client and
uncheck the Outlook there.
HTH.
