Internet history

I have recently purchased a laptop computer with windows
xp as the operating software.

I can not seem to be able to delete the internet history
on this machine.

I go to: TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS - I get the message
"the operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in
effect with this computer, please contact your system
administrator"

I also seem to be infected with a SPYWARE??? programme -
something about "ad bouncer"?

Are you logged on as a User with Administrative Rights?

I also seem to be infected with a SPYWARE??? programme -
something about "ad bouncer"?

Download, install, update, and run Adaware and Spybot.
