help anyone.
i have just downloaded new version of I E. when i start my comp. i get the
alert box with this across the top. smartbridge alerts: MOTIVESB.exe- entry
point not found. with this message in the box.
the procedure entry point GETPROCESSIMAGEFILEW could not be located in
the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL.
i stupidly did not back up my files, but i did create a restore point
before downloading. the problem is my computer is now running very slow since
the download. what should i do, just go back to the restore point.

motivesb.exe is a process by AT&T which allows a user to submit files to the
Internet for support. This is a non-essential process. Disabling or enabling
this is down to user preference

This program is not required to start automatically as you can run it when
you need to. It is advised that you disable this program so that it does not
take up necessary resources.

System tray icon for the Virtual Assistant from AT&T Broadband, used to
communicate internet problems via the network rather than telephone.
Available via desktop shortcut or Start -> Programs - not required

psapi.dll may or may not be the following.

What Is It?
VX2 - psapi.dll

What Does it Do?
VX2 is primarily a data mining form of spyware that monitors your activity
and phones home. It can also install additional programs without you knowing
which has a tendency to bring in pop ups and other bugs. There isn't
anything good that comes from this and should be removed immediately. This
can be pretty hard to completely remove from your system.

Removal Instructions:
Our VX2 Removal guide can be found here.

Try this: START, HELP & SUPPORT, ADJUST YOUR START-UP RESOURCES TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE. Then, NEXT.
Scroll down the box to SMARTBRIDGE and UNCHECK IT. Then NEXT. Then REBOOT. I'm not a computer wiz, and this took me hours to find, but it worked! Good luck.
