Internet explorer will not update

When ever i open ie 7 the home page is still on june 10-2007 and it is now
june14-2007 i can not get the current one.Even when i go to some of of
favorite pages and try to navigate them i get a message to turn on cookies
even they are on all the time.

1= Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs
| Advanced .

Click on General Tab (1st Tab on the left) and you will see a Button called
[ Clear History ..] click on it to clear your History caches, then click on
[Delete Files..] to delete Internet Files created over the time, click on [
Delete Cookies...] to delete your cookies left by visiting websites.
Click on Settings Button under Browsing History and make sure this Radio
Button is checked:
Temporary Internet Files
Internet Explorer stores copies of webpages...blah,blah
Check for newer versions of stored pages:
(*) Automatically
Click [OK].

Click Security Tab and then click on Custom Level Button and make these
changes:

[&]ActiveX Controls and plug-ins
[*] Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls
(*) Disable
( ) Enable
[*] Binary and script behaviours

[*] Download signed ActiveX controls
( ) Disable
( ) Enable
( ) Prompt
[*] Download unsigned ActiveX Controls
(*) Disable
( ) Enable
( ) Prompt
[*] Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as Safe
(*) Disable
( ) Enable
( ) Prompt
[*] Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins

[$] Allow scripting of Internet Explorer Web browser control

Click [OK] when you done.
Click Advanced Tab and make this change:
Under Browsing option:
[&] Browsing:
[ ] Display a notification about every script error <= Uncheck this box.

Click [OK] to close the IE properties and Hit F5 to refresh.
Make sure the system is malware free:
Scan for malwares from here:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D

Nass,

You forgot PROMT for the Signed ActiveX controls, but the user is still better
off asking in the IE newsgroup & should get in the habit of doing so

I do agree with you Newbie, but some users have trouble finding IE7 but
he/she should get there with the link provided by you if the provided info
didn't help.
